Berkshire Hathaway realty brand hits Minnesota lawns soon
Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices will officially begin operating in the Twin Cities June 10.
Lakeville-based Prudential Lovejoy Realty Inc. will go as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lovejoy Realty as part of the name brand consolidation underway around the country at Buffet's HomeServices franchisees.
The switch affects about 70 Realtors in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin, Prudential Lovejoy Realty President Tony Ashworth said.
"I think it adds creditability and a brand name that is known on a professional level," he said. "We also will have a lot more tools available for agents and clients."

Lovejoy has offices in Rochester, Cannon Falls, Lakeville, Shakopee, Plymouth and will soon expand in Woodbury and the Uptown area of Minneapolis. It also has a Wisconsin office that serves Onalaska and La Crosse.
The rebranding plan started when Warren Buffett's HomeServices of America Inc. bought Prudential's real-estate network in 2012.
In just a few years, Berkshire Hathaway has grown to a network of 26,000 agents and 700 offices in 33 states with the affiliation of 22 more brokerages.
Prudential Advantage Realty, based in Owatonna, is also making the switch to the Berkshire Hathaway brand.
Edina Realty is also an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway, but it has no intentions of rebranding, Ashworth said.
